Week two saw the restart of school, three important birthdays, and my attempt at vegan cooking. I’m still getting into the practice of intentionally noticing the world around me and taking photographs each day, and while it’s not wholly a habit yet, I’m enjoying trying to make it one.
Sunday
Expectation vs. Reality: My first attempt at cooking tofu and chickpea pasta. What can I say. I tried.
Monday
Willow hunting birds through the window. Ten minutes of this activity and she was tuckered out the rest of the day.
Tuesday
Judith (our art teacher) was rocking a “Tiffany” look, so she borrowed my glasses and imitated my geeking out face. I have to admit, this whole image is a pretty accurate representation.
Wednesday
Sometimes I’m too lazy to scrape my windshield off before driving home.
Thursday
A 6th period reading group snuggling into Touching Spirit Bear on my rug. This makes my heart smile.
Friday
Willow Bear cuddled in my legs. I was going to be productive buuut…
Saturday
Celebrated three birthdays at this dinner with my parents, family from Massachusetts, Brian, and my grandmother. Born in 1935, my grandmother turned 85 on the 10th. And though her mind is starting to slip into that state of hazy befuddlement that comes from old age and a head full of memories, I take comfort in knowing she has lived a lifetime of stories.
