I sort of f***ed up my life for a week and a half as July ended and August began.
Sunday
But before I did, I enjoyed a relaxed week, with lots of takeout and fluffy visits from Tyson.
Monday
I also, of course, started researching some of the environmental issues I learned about while kayaking the Salish Sea, and I learned all about Tokitae (stage name, Lolita). Humans suck so much. I educated myself, I donated to the organization set up by the indigenous group trying to save her, and I shared her story. It never feels like enough, though.
Tuesday
At least I got to meet my neighbor’s new pup, Nino (Short for Bambino). He’s aDORable (clearly).
Wednesday
More visits from Tyson as the week went on, too. It’s sweet that he missed me so much. Both my mom and Amanda said he wanted nothing to do with them when they stopped by the house. He stayed on his own porch while I was away. But as soon as I got home, he started spending the bulk of his time in my bushes again.
Thursday
I got ready for Nick and Ashley’s Jack & Jill. The theme of my basket was “Blind Date with a Book.”
Friday
I attempted to get back into a workout groove. It wasn’t pretty.
Saturday
And then I enjoyed Nick and Ashley’s Jack & Jill while exchanging flirtatious texts with a boy… A possible relationship I ruined by being a mess of a person after I got a job offer from a school in NYC. It hurts more than I’d like to admit that I screwed that up.
