2021 August – Week 34

Alas. The last full week of summer.

Sunday

At least it started with coffee IN PERSON with my morning writing group, who are just as lovely in real life as their heads are on Zoom.

Monday

Spent a handful of hours getting the classroom reorganized and going through some of the materials the retiree next door left me. I randomly opened to this page and found this gem of a story title.

After spending more time at the school getting ready for the fast-approaching year, I got to hang with my brother and his Puxter a bit. They’re back from their three-month tour of the US. I’m glad they both made it back safe and sound. Dexter kept his promise to me.

And thinks he should be continuously rewarded for that.

When you accidentally send a GIF to your principal instead of your coworker…

Sigh. At least it was a benign GIF/message.

Friday

8/27/2021

In an effort to feel a little more settled in for the school year before my final hurrah of the summer, I got my September BuJo spread ready…

How the HELL did September get so full???

I— I—

How???

In an effort to forget about how much life is about to come at me, I stopped getting settled in for the school year and left for my final hurrah of the summer…

Arrived at the Rhode Island coast at high tide, which isn’t optimal for surfing— and neither was the choppy water— but I got in there anyway and managed to catch a few decent waves.

About to head to my aunt’s for the evening (where I had a great dinner and regaled them all with my Honey Pot stories) I saw my coworker’s Insta story and realized he was at the sea wall, too. Next thing you know, we’re trying to take pics together while my salty hair is going every which way and we’re laughing at the randomness of life.

I’ll take it 🙂
