2021 December – Week 50

A week full of high highs and low lows…

Sunday

12/12/2021

Saturday night into Sunday morning, I was at a Christmas part in Washington Heights with Jason and his friends. They were all such lovely people; it was easy to laugh and talk with the fourteen strangers (all vaccinated). At the end of the night, Aaron hugged me and said, “I hope this isn’t goodbye forever!” and I have to say, I hope I see them again, too (and his stupid/cute bear).

Monday

12/13/2021

Channel Your Flannel day at VVS… AKA: Wear the only plaid shirt you own.

Tuesday

12/14/2021

Listen, Cheese Curd. I very much adore you, but this is… a look.

Tinsel Toes Day. Except those socks have the Grand Prismatic Spring on them and should definitely NOT be pulled over his pants.

Wednesday

12/15/2021

Did I don pleather pants for our New Year’s Eve Day? Heck yes, I did. And even though I’m not one for heals, I have to say I felt powerful as shit walking through the halls.

Thursday

12/16/2021

Someone did Red vs. Green Day right.

Friday

12/17/2021

Festive Friday saw this… monstrosity.

I went to Taranne’s to spend some time with her family. Ev and I epically failed at making cookies, but we had fun in the process. Which is a huge win because if cooking and I don’t get alone, baking and I outright hate each other.

And again, Ryan is back at my house. The texts went like this:

Ryan: Hi Tiffany, I will be around tonight, tomorrow night, and Monday night and would offer you another $80 to stay at your place... If it is a factor in your decision, this will be the last time I am up here before New Years.

Me: Haha I’m at Taranne’s in Buffalo… do you still have the key?

Ryan: No I left it under your mat (I should have told you this :( )

Me: Oh it’s probably still under the mat then haha

I don’t think I explained this before, so perhaps I should…

Ryan is in Taranne’s unit. In November, Taranne asked me if I would be willing to house him, since he has to be in Utica semi-permanently until they ship out January 21st. I’d never met him before, knew very little about him, but trusted Taranne.

I was right to trust her. Ryan, hailing from Baltimore, is a good person and a good roommate. We even had a long discussion about books one night! Despite the fact that this experience has taught me that I really do love living alone (he uses the coffeemaker at night. This means I cannot get it ready to autostart in the morning!), I’m glad I’ve gotten to meet him, and I’m glad I could help both him and Taranne out.
